Welcome to season 2009!

Hi guys, hope 2009 sees you in good health and happy.

On behalf of St Andrews FC (Saints) I would like to welcome all the new faces to the club. And there's a few of them this year! It's great to have you all on board and I look forward (as we all do) to getting to know you better whether we're playing on the same team or not.

This is the Saints FC website, which you may (hopefully)find useful.
To the newbies here, make sure you register by clicking the word 'Register' on the left here, and once you do you will be able to take part in the 'instant chat' at the top of the page and will also see some extra features in the 'Player Menu' on the left.

Please let me know if you have any issues with the site and I'll fix em up straight away. (Hit the 'Contact Us' to contact me)

Back to the football....
as you may know, this coming season may well see the absence of some regular faces and also some new faces in the Saints and so we begin another great season in the Saints colours and as usual, there's a few things to bear in mind.....
The way the numbers are looking at this very early stage, it's looking like 3 teams again, but the make up of those teams is hard to tell at this stage until we get an idea of who's in and who's out.

2009 will be no different on the 'social' aspect of the club also. The 'main events' that will be on the Saints calendar are as follows:
  • We have committed to getting a few numbers to St Andrews Church during the year
  • AGM type get together ( for all players / prospective players ) during 'Pre-Season'
  • Annual trivia night (to raise funds for YOU, winners shirts, trophies, ref fees, registration subsidies etc)
  • Club Presentation night at end of season (to receive your possible award and support your team mates receiving theirs)
  • End of year trip (Canoeing or other, to be decided by players)
  • Possible mid year 'BBQ' / family fun day (to be decided by players)

The cost and financing of these events will this year be VERY different to how they have been run in past years!....stay tuned for more details!

As 'Saints' club members, you have a duty to your club and indeed the Church that has put their support behind us, to promote the 'good will' within the club, the club itself and the game of football. (No different for the Mariners FC et all.) In this regard, it is expected that you attend AT LEAST the following events during the coming season as part of being a member of the St Andrews Football Club..

1/
Trivia (fund raising) night
2/ At least 1 church appearance
3/ End of year presentation night.

Your St Andrews 'Committee'.
